Terence McKenna (November 16, 1946 – April 3, 2000) was an American philosopher, ethnobotanist, lecturer, writer and author who spent much of his life speaking and writing about a variety of subjects. He was very passionate about shamanism, psychedelic drugs, plant-based entheogens, metaphysics, language, environmentalism, culture, technology, and the nature of human consciousness as a whole. You can learn a lot from spending some time reading through some of his words or giving a listen to some of the many discussions available online.  As an introduction to the great mind of Terrence here are a handful of some amazing quotes to get you thinking! 1. “The artist’s...

The Human Connection is indefeasible, and only can be suppressed as well as brought up. We have all felt what it is like to have a connection with other human beings. Here are some words from a yogi that is finding himself by bicycling across America. Being mindful and whole are things worth striving for in life. If one is not whole, one is not complete. The world that we live in is actually pretty simple, but we as humans can create our own chaotic environment. More often than not we cause our own suffering. The Buddha once said, "Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional." and I believe this sentiment to be very true. Now I do not categorize myself to any one religion or philosophy, however I do absorb different teachings from each culture and integrate it to my everyday life. I believe at the root of it all, before we can create ourself to who we want to be, we must know who we are...

Siddhartha Gautama, "Buddha", is the primary figure in Buddhism and accounts of his life, discourses, and monastic rules are believed by Buddhists to have been summarized after his death and memorized by his followers. Various collections of teachings attributed to him were passed down by oral tradition and first committed to writing about 400 years later.   Here are some of his quotes that really speak to me:   1."Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment."   2."No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk...
